Hello everyone. Well we decided to take our first Oz holiday and so we headed off to SYDNEY. Well we packed the car and our first stop was at the Nannie who was looking after the dogs, dropped off the beds, food, toys and the birds yes we have 2 budgies too. Cindy was not too pleased, Timmy was happy as there were 2 other dogs for him to play with. This is the first time that i have left my animals with other people other than my house keepers in Europe so it was a bit stessful for me to say good bye. Then it was off to the Cattery for the cat drop off. This is more like a hotel than a cattery but still nervous to drop them off.
Anyway with one extra driver now with Sarah at the wheel off we headed to Wagga Wagga ( its halfway between Sydney and Melbourne) It was nice to be out there and seeing the country. Its not much different to South Africa but its very dry at the moment with the drought that we are having here. Paul and Megan well they just slept in the back most of the way 4 hours !!!!
Wagga Wagga is a place not to be missed !!!! no really its a lovely little town in the middle of no where. We were a bit tired so just went to the local store to get supplies for the following day and ordered Pizza for the room and all went to bed early
Day two of the trip we arrived in Sydney in the afternoon it was only a 5 hour trip so we just took our time to see the country and of course they are very strict here on your speed. On the main highway you are only allowed to go 110km and not a k over they are every where ( camera's) and as Sarah is driving one offence her licence is taken away for a a while so we just enjoyed the drive and sights.
That eveing on arrival we went to the Aquarium in Darling Harbour, as Megan said and Aquarium is a aquarium no matter what country you are in, but this was was lovely with the under water walk
We did so much in the five day we were there. We did the Zoo and these animals have the best view in Sydney over looking the harbour/bay. We had a great day there and did lots of walking the girls fed the giraffe and visited the koala's
We used the ferry boats to get around and stopped of at quite a few places one was Watson Bay where we had a drink or two watching the sun set before we got the last boat back to Darling harbour
